time on my hands - finally
So since I last wrote much has happened. I moved everything finally into refurbished cottage and have mostly unpacked. Fell on a slippery rock whilst exploring the local beach - there was this beautiful shell just by the waters edge and forgetting that the outgoing tide would leave the rocks slippery I stepped down and over I went. I clambered up the cliff, after retrieving the shell, and there followed 8 weeks in a wrist brace whilst the fracture healed . Two further weeks passed before I could begin to take off the brace to work on my clay. My small kiln had been delivered from my old studio and I completed one firing before it decided that the moved had been too much. Finally after a failed attempt by the friendly electrician to mend it I found a kiln repair service at Bournemouth. But Lockdown happened. Frustration does not nearly cover how I was feeling at this point. Happily for me the elements which I had ordered arrived and the kiln engineer agreed to come and do the repair as he did not need to enter the cottage and all could be done at a safe distance. So for the last 2 weeks I have been able to fire work and test glazes. We may not be able to exhibit at Dorset Art Week this year but it is good to have some stock to put on the website
